ORANJESTAD, Aruba — Former Aruba minister Otmar Oduber has announced a cassation appeal against his two-year prison sentence and five-year ban from public office in the Flamingo case.
Former minister contests the appeal ruling
Oduber said he respects the court’s authority but rejects its conclusions and plans to use the legal avenues available to him. The case concerns conduct from 2017 to 2019 while he served in the first Wever-Croes cabinet.
Cassation becomes the next legal step
At a press conference, Oduber argued that elements of his defence should be reviewed and denied acting for personal gain. His claims remain his account; cassation will address legal issues arising from the judgment.
