According to CBS Aruba statistics: The “Food & Catering Services” index registered an increase of 0.3% in March 2026, after registering a 0.2% increase in February 2026. The “Food at Home” index (0.1%) registered an increase, where six (6) of the eleven (11) indicators of the food at home groups rose in March 2026. The “Vegetables” index saw the largest increase (1.6%) in March 2026. Other significant increases were registered in the “Meat” indicators (0.7%) and “Remaining food products” (0.4%). The largest decrease was registered in the “Sweet potato, cassava, and sweet potato” index (-3.2%) in March 2026. The “Food Outside the Home” index registered a 0.7% increase in March 2026. In March 2026, “Food at Home” and “Food Outside the Home” as a group had a price increase of 0.3% compared to February 2026 and together had an influence of 0.05 ppt on the CPI, while the remaining goods and services together experienced a price increase of 0.8% and had an effect of 0.69 ppt on the CPI. Price changes in Food and Catering Services: In the last twelve (12) months, the “Food & Catering Services” index rose by 3.3%. The “Food at Home” index saw a 3.1% increase, where eight (8) of the eleven (11) indicators of the “Food at Home” groups rose during this period. The “Vegetables” index saw the largest increase of 9.1%, the biggest among the “Food at Home” groups. Additionally, other significant increases were registered in the indicators for “Sugar, jam, and other sweets” (6.2%), “Non-alcoholic beverages” (5.8%), “Fruits” (3.7%), “Remaining food products” (3.7%), and “Meat” (3.1%). The largest decrease during this period was registered in the “Sweet potato, cassava, and sweet potato” index (-7.2%). The “Food Outside the Home” index registered a 3.6% increase over the last twelve months.
