ORANJESTAD (AAN) – The Aruba Social Dialogue officially began this week at the Renaissance Convention Center, bringing together the Government, employer groups, unions, and key community stakeholders. Prime Minister Mike Eman opened the meeting alongside Cabinet Ministers Mervin Wyatt-Ras, Geoffrey Wever, and Wendrick Cicilia.

In his opening remarks, Eman emphasized that the Aruba Social Dialogue aims to establish a structured and inclusive process based on mutual respect and broad participation. He highlighted several structural challenges facing Aruba, including pension reform, minimum wage adjustments, long-term care, and financial sustainability.

Six major agenda points were discussed, including amendments to the General Pension Ordinance (LAP), gradual minimum wage increases, regulation of social leave, long-term care legislation, and support for children requiring intensive care.
