ORANJESTAD (AAN): The Center for Development of Aruba (CEDE Aruba) continues to play a vital role in strengthening community organizations and social initiatives with support from the European Union.
The CEDE Aruba EU Cooperation focuses on providing funding, training, networking, and project support to NGOs and grassroots organizations, helping build a stronger social sector on the island.
Since 2017, CEDE Aruba has actively participated in the European Solidarity Corps, enabling young people between 18 and 30 to gain international volunteer experience in Europe. These programs help participants develop skills and expand personal and professional growth.
In addition, CEDE Aruba has hosted European volunteers locally since 2019, contributing to community projects and youth initiatives while fostering cultural exchange.
The CEDE Aruba EU Cooperation will expand further in 2025, as the organization gains accreditation for youth worker mobility, allowing professionals to receive international training to better address social challenges.
Programs such as Erasmus+ and the European Solidarity Corps continue to support these efforts by covering costs and facilitating international collaboration.
According to CEDE Aruba, the CEDE Aruba EU Cooperation strengthens local organizations, especially in the youth sector, by combining international experience with local development.
This partnership reflects a long-term vision of collaboration between Aruba, the Dutch Caribbean, and Europe, creating opportunities for growth, innovation, and community impact.
