ORANJESTAD (AAN): Director of the Department of Taxation (DIMP), Mrs. Luenne Gomez-Pieters, announced that the revenue from social security contributions collected by DIMP has increased for 2025. The SVb has seen a 22.2 million Florin increase, bringing the total to 392.9 million Florin, while AZV saw an increase of 18.5 million Florin, reaching a total of 315 million Florin.
According to Mrs. Gomez-Pieters, Director of Social Security departments, Mr. Edwin Jacobs, expressed satisfaction with the increased amounts collected by both departments. These increases are important for ensuring pension and healthcare coverage for the people of Aruba.
Regarding the Aruba Tourism Authority (ATA), Mrs. Gomez-Pieters also mentioned that ATA has seen a revenue increase of 12.3 million Florin compared to the previous year. The total revenue for ATA is now 130.9 million Florin.
“These collections managed by DIMP are made ‘on behalf of third parties,’ and all have been increased for 2025. These increases reflect the economic progress, especially in the tourism sector, where we are witnessing different developments across the island. This is also reflected in the tax collections,” Mrs. Gomez-Pieters shared.
She also emphasized that a key factor in these increases is the efficiency of the Department of Taxation in managing the collections both for DIMP and for other departments that also saw increases.
