ORANJESTAD (AAN): The Lighting Parade Aruba 2026 officially began on Saturday evening at 8:00 PM, organized by the Aruba Police Force in collaboration with SMAC.
A total of eight groups participated, including one last lap, with approximately 3,509 participants taking part in the parade. The Aruba Police Force deployed 175 personnel, including uniformed police officers, Military Police, criminal investigation units, traffic department, K-9 unit, Motor Unit, Flex Team, Mobile Command, OCC, planning department, administrative staff, and CEA personnel.
By 1:00 AM, the parade head reached the former DOW area, and the event officially concluded at 2:55 AM early Sunday morning.
Police confirmed that Lighting Parade Aruba 2026 resulted in only one arrest, which was related to possession of a bladed weapon (switchblade). This marks a significant decrease compared to 2025, when eight arrests were recorded during the event.
The Aruba Police Force expressed satisfaction with the overall behavior of participants, noting the positive and responsible conduct displayed throughout Lighting Parade Aruba 2026.
