On Christmas Eve, Aruba’s Prime Minister Mike Eman, together with Jocelyne M.M. Croes, Director of the Department of Foreign Relations, held a telephone conference with U.S. Consul General Ramon Negron.
During the call, it was announced that the U.S. Southern Air Forces and the Dutch Caribbean Air Navigation Service Provider (DC-ANSP) have reached a new agreement aimed at improving safety and efficiency in the airspace surrounding the ABC islands—Aruba, Bonaire, and Curaçao.
The agreement focuses on better management of flight altitudes, airspace coordination, and scheduling, allowing both civilian and military aircraft to operate with fewer delays and greater predictability in the southern Caribbean.
A key part of the plan is maintaining specific air corridors free of U.S. military activity, ensuring smooth operations for commercial airlines and private aircraft.
The agreement highlights strong cooperation between the United States and regional aviation authorities. With improved planning and real-time coordination, flights to and from the ABC islands are expected to become safer and more efficient, while maintaining necessary separation from U.S. military training and missions.
