Deadline Approaching for Students with Arubalening to Request Term Payments Before August 2025

The Directorate of Education reminds students with an Arubalening (Aruba study loan) that the deadline to request their installment payment for the upcoming academic period is approaching.

According to the Landsbesluit voorwaarden studieleningen (LbVS), updated in September 2023, Arubalening payments are issued in two installments per academic year.

  • Period 1: Requests must be submitted between June 15 and September 15, 2025, covering the term August to December 2025.
  • Period 2: Requests can be submitted between November 15, 2025, and February 15, 2026, covering January to July 2026.

Students must apply for the installment payment, as it is not automatic. Applications are submitted through the Arubalening Portal at www.ea.aw under the Uitbetaling tab, along with the required documents:

  • Official proof of (re)enrollment for the 2025/2026 academic year.
  • Official transcript or progress report for 2024/2025.
  • Proof of valid insurance for 2025/2026 (not required for Aruba-based students).

Once complete documentation is submitted, payments will be approved and deposited into the student’s registered bank account. Processing takes approximately 4–6 weeks. Incomplete or incorrect submissions will result in rejection until corrected.

To qualify, students must earn at least 60% of their study credits, evaluated every two years. Failure to meet requirements, including obtaining the propedeuse within two years, will result in termination of the Arubalening. Students may request a suspension of their loan for one semester up to one year, but longer suspensions also terminate eligibility.

New students receiving an Arubalening starting in August 2025 are not required to apply for Period 1 payments, as they will receive a start package covering August–December 2025.

For updates, students are encouraged to regularly check www.ea.aw and follow @educationaruba on Facebook and Instagram. For inquiries, students can contact the Study Facilities and Guidance section via WhatsApp (594-4140), email (arubalening@ea.aw), or in person at Stadionweg 37.
