Eman and Noordegraaf discussed closer knowledge cooperation between Aruba and the Netherlands during a meeting in The Hague, according to an October 20 report by 24ora.
Higher education and public administration discussed
Prime Minister Mike Eman met Utrecht University professor Mirko Noordegraaf to discuss higher education, research, public administration and knowledge exchange. The report also identifies Noordegraaf as an extraordinary professor of Governance and Public Services at the University of Aruba.
Aruba’s Minister Plenipotentiary Mildred Schwengle, Robert Candelaria, Indra Hassell-Duarte and Shandra John attended, the report said.
Possible action plan through the University of Aruba
Noordegraaf said the conversation offered opportunities to explore a possible action plan, including through the University of Aruba. He described cooperation as reciprocal, with both countries contributing knowledge and experience.
The report describes exploratory discussions, not an adopted agreement or a funded programme. It does not give a separate exact meeting date.
Eman also presented a copy of Volk van Veerkracht by Rene Zwart and Luc Alofs, a publication linked to forty years of Aruba’s Status Aparte.
