ORANJESTAD (AAN) – Panamanian airline Wingo Airlines has identified Aruba as a primary focus for its summer 2026 operations, projecting a 15% growth in passenger numbers compared to 2025. The carrier expects to transport over 703,000 passengers during the high season of June and July. Within its international projections, the route between Aruba and Medellin is listed as one of the highest demand destinations.
As part of a strategy to expand travel options in the Caribbean and Latin America, Wingo will launch two new routes to the island. Beginning June 17, the airline will operate direct flights between Bucaramanga and Aruba twice weekly on Thursdays and Saturdays. On July 9, a direct service between Barranquilla and Aruba will commence, also featuring two weekly frequencies. Wingo noted that many of these new routes face no direct competition from other carriers.
In related travel news, JetBlue has adjusted its summer schedule for the region. While the airline is cutting flights from New York to Aruba, it will expand its service from Fort Lauderdale.
