ORANJESTAD (AAN): Volunteer tourism in Aruba was highlighted this week during a community-focused activity attended by Minister of Tourism, Transport and Labor Wendrick Cicilia, alongside a group of visiting tourists.
The activity took place at the historic home of Bernadina Grovell d.f.m., affectionately known as “the mother of culture” in Aruba. Through a simple yet meaningful initiative—painting the historic home—the group demonstrated how volunteer tourism in Aruba can create lasting community impact beyond traditional travel experiences.
The project formed part of “The Common Good” conference and was designed as a cultural volunteer initiative that connects visitors directly with Aruba’s heritage while contributing positively to the local community.
