Venezuela ABC Islands exports totalled 7,046 tonnes in the first five months of 2026, according to Juan Gotopo of the La Vela de Coro Chamber of Commerce. The shipments went to Aruba, Bonaire and Curaçao.
Produce leads cargo volumes
Gotopo said fruit and vegetable exports to the islands reached 34,661 tonnes from the port’s May 2023 reopening through May 2026. Bananas were 34% of the total, followed by coconuts at 10%, watermelons at 5%, avocados at 4% and papayas at 3%.
Port inspection is awaited
The trade official said the sector is waiting for Venezuelan transport authorities to resume technical inspections at Puerto de Muaco after inspections stopped following June earthquakes.
