PPA parliamentarian Eduard Pieters says government should implement clear Aruba North Coast rules under the spatial-development framework already in force, following parliamentary consensus on the access dispute.
Pieters points to the existing ROPV
Pieters said the issue extends beyond ATVs and UTVs to enforcement of the ROPV, effective since September 1, 2021. He said it does not impose a general vehicle ban but permits defined routes, speed and noise limits, vehicle limits and extra protection for sensitive areas.
Access involves several local groups
The lawmaker said access matters to fishers, families, athletes and emergency services. He called for stakeholder consultation, environmental protection and effective enforcement.
