Government Vision of Wever-Croes Executed with Two New Incinerators in Parkietenbos

On January 29th, the MEP faction in Parliament visited the new AWSS project in Parkietenbos. The project involves two incinerators that had been in development by AWSS for some time and are now fully operational.

Parliamentarian Evelyn Wever-Croes expressed satisfaction with the completion of this project, which had faced delays due to the government’s desire to investigate before proceeding, despite environmental challenges.

Wever-Croes mentioned that her government had privatized AWSS, where they implemented this vision, and now, the current government has executed it, aligning with the Wever-Croes Cabinet’s vision.

Director of Utilities Aruba NV, Joseph Everon, requested support from Parliament for the project. “As I’ve always said, we support projects that are good for Aruba, regardless of whether we are in government or opposition. If it’s beneficial for Aruba, we support it,” Wever-Croes emphasized.
