One person was injured in a Weststraat hit-and-run involving a Mazda SUV and a Nissan at an intersection near Fruteria Virgilio on Tuesday afternoon.
Collision occurred at the Weststraat intersection
According to the report, the Mazda was travelling on the road with the right of way when the Nissan approached from the opposite direction. The two vehicles collided at the intersection.
The Nissan driver then left the scene. A piece of the vehicle and its licence plate were reportedly left behind, giving police evidence to examine as they investigate the incident.
Injured driver taken for medical treatment
Police attended the scene and took a statement from the other driver. After the driver reported pain, an ambulance was called. Paramedics provided assistance before transporting the person to hospital for further treatment.
The same intersection was also the site of another reported accident in August, according to the source.
