An Aruban parliamentary delegation, including MP Shailiny Tromp-Lee (MEP), has arrived in the Netherlands to participate in Tripartite meetings with colleagues from Curaçao and St. Maarten. These discussions are scheduled prior to the start of the Interparlementair Koninkrijksoverleg (IPKO) and address key legal and structural topics for the islands.
The agenda focuses on the Geschillenregeling (Dispute Regulation), which recently received advice from the Council of State of the Netherlands, and the evaluation of the Onderlinge Regeling regarding the Landspakket reforms. The Mutual Arrangement for Reform entered into force in April 2023 as a collaboration model between the Netherlands, Aruba, Curaçao, and St. Maarten. This framework replaced a proposed Kingdom Law and COHO structure to ensure that ownership of the reforms remains with the countries themselves.
