ORANJESTAD (AAN) – Police and ambulance personnel responded Thursday morning to a traffic accident with injuries at the intersection of Rudolf Arendstraat and Emmastraat.
According to initial police information, the accident occurred after a Toyota Vitz traveling from the lower side of the road reportedly failed to give right of way to a Kia Picanto approaching from the north.
The impact caused the Kia Picanto to strike the Toyota Vitz, turning the vehicle approximately 90 degrees.
Authorities also reported that the Toyota Vitz involved in the accident did not have its vehicle documentation in order.
As a result of the collision, the driver of the Kia Picanto sustained injuries.
Ambulance personnel treated the injured victim at the scene before further assistance was provided.
Police continued investigating the circumstances surrounding the traffic accident.
