A San Nicolas multifunctional facility is among the community projects announced by Prime Minister Mike Eman as Aruba prepares a new round of public investment.
Project presented during San Nicolas investment event
The announcement was made during a national event outside the auxiliary government office in San Nicolas. Members of the AVP-Futuro cabinet presented investment projects planned for the coming years following approval of the AIOF budgets for 2026 and 2027, along with projects supported by other funding sources.
Eman said the multifunctional facility, commonly referred to as an MFA, is intended for the center of San Nicolas. He noted that Noord, Paradera, Santa Cruz and Savaneta already have MFA buildings and said San Nicolas should also receive this type of community facility.
Announcement connects infrastructure with quality of life
The prime minister linked the project to a broader goal of improving quality of life, particularly for pensioners, lower-income families and residents considered most vulnerable.
The government has not yet published a construction timetable, final design or budget for the San Nicolas facility in the announcement. Eman said the plan should not be left behind and reaffirmed the intention to make it a reality.
Neighborhood renewal also remains on the agenda
The same presentation included renewed plans for the De Vuyst and Bushiri neighborhoods. The government framed these projects as part of a wider investment agenda for San Nicolas and communities east of the bridge.
