N.V. ELMAR has brought Aruba real-estate agencies together for the third edition of its “Chispa di Informacion” program, providing practical guidance about electricity services and the infrastructure requirements associated with property development.
The ELMAR real-estate information session included both agencies attending for the first time and firms that had participated previously. The annual program is designed to give professional stakeholders direct access to information, questions and exchanges with the electricity distributor.
Electricity accounts and digital services explained
Representatives reviewed processes that real-estate professionals regularly encounter while assisting clients. Topics included applying for an electricity meter and using e-Connect, ELMAR’s digital platform for viewing bills and monitoring electricity consumption.
Clear knowledge of these procedures can help agencies set realistic expectations for buyers, sellers and tenants. It can also reduce uncertainty when a property changes hands or requires a new connection.
Large housing developments added to the program
This year’s session introduced a subject with broader implications for Aruba’s construction and housing sectors. ELMAR’s Planning and Projects team explained the process for arranging electricity infrastructure for major neighborhood and residential developments.
Real-estate agencies are increasingly involved in development projects in addition to ordinary property transactions. Understanding infrastructure requirements at the beginning of a project can support better planning and more efficient coordination among developers, agencies, clients and the utility.
Participants received an overview of the required steps and were able to put questions directly to ELMAR representatives. They also shared experiences arising from their own work with clients and projects.
ELMAR continues stakeholder outreach
ELMAR has used earlier editions of Chispa di Informacion to engage different professional groups, including recognized electrical installers and real-estate agencies. The utility says the initiative is intended to make service information more accessible and strengthen cooperation with organizations that regularly guide customers through its procedures.
