STA President Issues Ultimatum to Triple-A Management Over Labor Disputes at Reina Beatrix Airport

In an interview with DIARIO, Diego de Cuba, president of the Aruba Workers Union (STA), discussed the ongoing issues at Triple-A, particularly in departments responsible for daily airport operations and the workers assigned there.

“We’ve been analyzing the situation for a while, and we’ve warned Triple-A NV to stop their malpractice and violations of the collective labor agreement, but apparently, they continue,” de Cuba stated.

He further highlighted that, according to the Collective Labor Agreement (CAO), there are at least ten articles being violated by Triple-A management. De Cuba emphasized that the management is changing work conditions as they see fit, violating agreements related to personnel shifts.

De Cuba revealed that STA had sent a letter to Triple-A management with an ultimatum: a meeting must be held by today, September 19, 2025, or the first action will take place on Saturday at Reina Beatrix Airport.

“We will call an urgent meeting today to discuss the situation with the workers. We cannot allow this to escalate. The airport is heading in a dictatorial direction, and if you are a state-owned company in this country, this is not the direction you should be going. You are creating chaos and a negative working environment for your employees, and that leads to friction and problems,” de Cuba concluded.
