ORANJESTAD, Aruba — The Santa Rosa Market will return on Saturday, August 1, 2026, at Cunucu di Chabelito, the children’s farm located on the Santa Rosa grounds.
Nathalie Maduro, director of Aruba’s Department of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries, announced the temporary market location during an interview with DIARIO.
Shaded Location Selected During Hot Weather
Maduro said the Chabelito location was selected because the current season is becoming especially hot, creating uncomfortable conditions for some visitors.
The trees surrounding the children’s farm provide shade and a cooler environment, particularly for older residents attending the market.
Families are also encouraged to bring their children and grandchildren, who will have an opportunity to see the animals kept at the farm.
Chabelito Offers Educational Family Experience
Cunucu di Chabelito opened at Santa Rosa as a joint initiative involving the agriculture and education departments.
The farm gives children direct contact with domestic animals, agriculture and Aruba’s natural environment while encouraging respect for living creatures.
Schools, foundations and families regularly use the location for educational and recreational visits.
Market Supports Aruba’s Local Producers
Santa Rosa markets provide local farmers and producers with an opportunity to present agricultural products, food and other locally made items directly to the community.
Recent editions have included fresh vegetables, eggs, coconut oil and other products cultivated or prepared in Aruba. Market demand has continued growing, with residents regularly attending to support local producers.
The August 1 edition combines the traditional market experience with Chabelito’s shaded surroundings and family-friendly animal area.
Event Hours Not Yet Announced
The initial announcement confirmed the date and location but did not provide the market’s opening hours, admission details or complete vendor list.
Visitors should check the official Santa Rosa communication channels for any additional instructions before travelling to the event.
The Santa Rosa Market at Chabelito gives residents an opportunity to support Aruba’s agricultural community while enjoying a more comfortable outdoor environment with their families.
