ORANJESTAD, Aruba — The Casa del Mar Aruba Certification achievement is being celebrated after a group of resort employees successfully completed the Aruba Certification Program.

The Aruba Excellence Foundation congratulated the participants, describing them as better prepared to share Aruba’s history, culture and local identity with the visitors they serve.

The programme gives tourism and hospitality employees reliable information they can use when answering guests’ questions about Aruba.

Employees Strengthen Their Knowledge of Aruba

Tourism employees frequently serve as an important source of information for visitors.

Guests may ask questions about Aruba’s history, traditions, natural environment, political structure, attractions and local way of life.

Through the Aruba Certification Program, Casa del Mar employees received structured training intended to help them provide more accurate and informative answers.

This knowledge can improve conversations between employees and guests while helping visitors develop a deeper understanding of the island beyond its beaches and resorts.

Programme Covers History, Culture and Tourism

The Aruba Certification Program is an accredited initiative managed by the Aruba Excellence Foundation.

Its curriculum provides concise information about Aruba’s people, history, culture, nature, sustainable development, national symbols, tourism industry and service standards.

The programme also incorporates four guiding values intended to reflect the character of Aruba’s hospitality.

Participants can complete different versions of the programme depending on their organisation’s needs and available time.

Current options include longer face-to-face training, a shorter service-focused course and an online programme containing several modules and an examination.

Training Helps Employees Become Island Ambassadors

Hospitality employees do more than provide accommodation and customer service.

Their interactions can influence how guests understand Aruba and how they remember their visit after returning home.

A knowledgeable employee can explain local customs, recommend culturally meaningful experiences and correct inaccurate information about the island.

The Casa del Mar Aruba Certification therefore supports the development of employees as informal ambassadors who can represent Aruba with knowledge, authenticity and pride.

Service Excellence Remains Central

The programme also focuses on service excellence and the relationship between tourism employees and their guests.

Participants learn how knowledge of Aruba can be combined with professional service to create a more meaningful visitor experience.

Aruba Excellence Foundation says the programme was developed to support the high standards of service and warmth associated with Aruban hospitality.

This approach can benefit both visitors and employers. Guests receive more reliable information, while hospitality businesses develop teams that are more confident when discussing Aruba.

Certification Remains Valid for Three Years

Employees who successfully complete the programme receive a certificate, an official pin and an electronic book containing programme information.

The certification remains valid for three years. Courses are available through in-person and online formats, with language options including Papiamento, English and Spanish for the online programme.

The flexible formats allow hotels, resorts and other tourism organisations to select training that fits their schedules and operational requirements.

Casa del Mar Team Better Prepared for Guests

Completing the programme means the participating Casa del Mar employees are now better equipped to respond when visitors request detailed information about Aruba.

Their training can help them explain the island’s identity while encouraging guests to appreciate its culture, people and history.

The Casa del Mar Aruba Certification represents an investment in employee development and in the quality of Aruba’s overall tourism experience.

By strengthening the knowledge of people who communicate with visitors every day, the programme helps ensure that Aruba’s story is shared accurately, confidently and respectfully.
