ORANJESTAD, Aruba — Santa Anna Parish Aruba is inviting parishioners from Noord and members of the wider community to attend its annual patronal feast as the church begins celebrations connected to its approaching 250th anniversary.
The historic parish in Noord has started the special observance with a novena dedicated to Saint Anne, the patron saint of the community.
The novena began on Friday, July 17, and will continue through Saturday, July 25. Each evening’s novena service will take place approximately 30 minutes before Mass.
The religious programme will conclude on Sunday, July 26, with a procession beginning at 5:30 p.m. on the church grounds.
A solemn Mass will follow at 6 p.m., marking the culmination of the patronal feast celebrations.
Special Music During Solemn Mass
The Santa Anna Choir will provide musical accompaniment during the Mass, together with pianist Igmar Maduro.
The choir is scheduled to perform “Misa Santa Teresita,” a major religious composition by Haime van der Biezen.
Organizers hope the music, procession and worship service will create a meaningful celebration for parishioners and visitors attending the event.
Community Invited to Participate
Santa Anna Parish Aruba has extended the invitation to all parishioners in Noord, as well as residents from other parts of the island.
The celebration offers the community an opportunity to honour Saint Anne, reflect on the parish’s long history and prepare for its milestone anniversary.
For generations, Santa Anna Parish has served as an important religious and community centre in Noord.
The upcoming 250th anniversary will recognize the parish’s longstanding role in the spiritual and cultural life of the area.
Residents are encouraged to participate in the remaining novena services and attend the procession and solemn Mass on Sunday, July 26.
