ORANJESTAD (AAN) – Minister Croes Honors Aruba’s Top 24 Graduates of 2026 as the island’s highest-achieving students were recognized during the Best Student Award Event 2026, organized by the Women’s Club of Aruba.
The ceremony celebrated 24 outstanding graduates from schools across Aruba for their exceptional academic achievements during the 2025–2026 school year.
The event was attended by Governor of Aruba Alfonso Boekhoudt and his wife, who serves as an honorary member of the Women’s Club of Aruba. They were joined by Minister of Kingdom Relations, Education, Youth, Innovation and Sports Gerlien Croes, who personally congratulated the graduates and applauded their dedication and perseverance.
One of the ceremony’s most memorable moments came when graduate Byron Lesire took the stage to present an inspiring motivational poem. His message of courage, hope, and determination resonated with attendees and highlighted the value of resilience in pursuing personal goals.
“The students honored today are examples of discipline and perseverance. As the Government of Aruba, we are extremely proud of each of your achievements. The journey toward achieving your dreams is not always easy, but you have shown that it is one of the most valuable paths a person can choose,” Minister Croes said.
The Best Student Award has become a longstanding tradition of the Women’s Club of Aruba, recognizing academic excellence while encouraging young people to serve as positive role models within their schools and communities.
Minister Croes also thanked the Women’s Club of Aruba for its continued commitment to empowering young people and promoting education as a cornerstone of Aruba’s development.
“The next generation of our island is one of the most important investments we can make. I extend my sincere gratitude to the Women’s Club of Aruba for continuing to nurture the incredible potential of our students and encouraging them to pursue their dreams,” she said.
In her closing remarks, the minister congratulated all of the award recipients once again and encouraged them to view the recognition as the beginning of a future filled with confidence, purpose, and opportunity.
She reminded the graduates that while challenges may lie ahead, Aruba has confidence in their abilities and encouraged them to carry their knowledge, values, and vision forward as they continue pursuing success.
On behalf of the Ministry of Education and Youth, Minister Gerlien Croes extended her best wishes to all of Aruba’s outstanding graduates as they begin the next chapter of their academic and professional journeys.
