The Ronde van Aruba 2026 concluded successfully and entered the record books as the largest edition ever held.
A total of 813 participants took part in the 72-kilometer running event around Aruba. Participants came from Aruba, the Netherlands, and England, making this year’s event one of the most internationally diverse editions to date.
Organized by the Sports Office of the Marine Barracks in Savaneta, the Ronde van Aruba 2026 brought together both military personnel and civilian athletes. Approximately 30% of participants were military members, while the remaining 70% consisted of local runners and international sports enthusiasts.
The challenging route around the island offered participants a unique mix of physical endurance and scenic island experiences. Both individual runners and teams delivered strong performances despite the warm weather conditions and received enthusiastic support from spectators along the route.
Jeffrey Wassenburg, Head of the Sports Office at the Marine Barracks in Savaneta, stated that the record participation demonstrates the continued growth and social impact of the event.
He also praised the collaboration between the armed forces, volunteers, and the Aruban community, which helped ensure a safe and successful sporting event.
