The FCVR healthy relationships Aruba awareness program continues to educate people of different age groups about building safe and respectful relationships.
Esther Broeksema, Director of the Fundacion Contra Violencia Relacional (FCVR), explained during an interview that the foundation works with partner groups ranging from adolescents to young children as part of its awareness initiatives.
According to Broeksema, the foundation cannot force people to change their situations, but it can help individuals understand what a healthy relationship looks like. One of the organization’s workshops, called “Rumoring Healthy Relationship,” focuses on presenting positive relationship examples that encourage participants to reflect on their own experiences.
The FCVR healthy relationships Aruba initiative aims to help people recognize unhealthy behaviors at home, work, school, or within personal relationships without directly confronting them with labels such as abuse or violence.
Broeksema emphasized the importance of collaboration with social organizations and educational institutions, including Tienda di Educacion and other support agencies. FCVR is also working to formalize referral systems and cooperation protocols so families can quickly receive the appropriate assistance when needed.
The foundation believes that awareness and education across all age groups are essential to promoting healthier relationships and stronger community support systems in Aruba.
