ORANJESTAD, Aruba — The Rodgers Beach Facility Center has been fully renovated and is ready for public use again following improvement work carried out through cooperation between the Ministry of Tourism, Transport and Labor and the Aruba Tourism Authority.

Tourism, Transport and Labor Minister Wendrick Cicilia officially presented the renewed facility, describing the project as part of wider efforts to preserve and revitalize public spaces that are important to Aruba’s communities.

The Facility Center has particular significance for residents of San Nicolas and has been associated with family gatherings and community activities for generations.

However, the building had deteriorated over time and required extensive renovation and maintenance.

Rodgers Beach Facility Center Reopens

With the work now completed, the Rodgers Beach Facility Center has received a refreshed appearance and can once again be enjoyed by the community.

The project was not limited to the building itself.

Maintenance was also carried out on the pier and deck at Rodgers Beach, helping create a safer and more pleasant environment for people using the area.

The Government of Aruba confirmed that the renovation forms part of ongoing efforts to preserve public facilities with strong community value.

Cicilia Highlights Community Importance

Cicilia said Rodgers Beach holds special meaning for many Aruba residents because of the memories created there by families and friends.

He stressed that government investment should not focus exclusively on developing new projects.

Maintaining and renewing existing public facilities is equally important, particularly when those spaces have longstanding cultural and community value.

The minister thanked A.T.A. for its cooperation and commitment to projects that directly benefit residents.

He also recognized the individuals and organizations involved in completing the renovation.

Public Facilities Support Tourism and Residents

Cicilia said tourism should provide benefits that can be felt throughout Aruba rather than only in traditional visitor areas.

Investments in places such as the Rodgers Beach Facility Center can benefit local families while also improving public infrastructure available to visitors exploring the southern part of the island.

Rodgers Beach is located near San Nicolas and Baby Beach and is known for its calm waters and quieter atmosphere. Aruba News has previously included Rodgers Beach among the island’s notable beaches for swimming and relaxation.

More Maintenance Remains Important

Cicilia emphasized that maintaining public facilities after renovation is essential if investments are to continue benefiting residents for many years.

He said cooperation between government, A.T.A. and the community can help preserve Aruba’s public spaces while creating a cleaner, safer and more sustainable environment.

The minister also thanked Hilario Doncker for his continued attention to projects and developments in San Nicolas.

With renovation of the Rodgers Beach Facility Center, pier and deck now completed, the site is once again available as a community facility and recreational space.

Cicilia said continued investment in public infrastructure remains important for ensuring that both residents and visitors can enjoy Aruba’s beaches and community areas well into the future.
