The Regional Youth Professionals Meet In Curaçao conference featured presentations from each island, highlighting ongoing projects and initiatives designed to address specific youth-related issues.

Aruba shared information about programs focused on preventing youth involvement in gangs and criminal activity. Participants discussed various intervention methods and exchanged experiences regarding the effectiveness of current initiatives.

Sint Maarten presented efforts aimed at addressing youth violence through a comprehensive approach involving cooperation between government agencies, social organizations, and community partners.

The Regional Youth Professionals Meet In Curaçao event also examined the growing influence of social media and digital platforms. Professionals from Curaçao explained how online content, messages, videos, and music can contribute to conflicts and violent behavior among young people.

Meanwhile, Bonaire emphasized the importance of creating positive opportunities for youth through education, personal development, and active participation in society. Their approach focuses not only on preventing negative behavior but also on helping young people build a brighter future.

Pemberton-Leonard noted that while each island faces unique circumstances, many challenges are similar, including limited funding and shortages of specialized personnel.

The Regional Youth Professionals Meet In Curaçao gathering reinforced the value of regional collaboration and highlighted the importance of continuing to invest in programs that provide guidance, support, and opportunities for young people throughout the Caribbean.

Participants concluded that sharing proven methods and strengthening partnerships can help achieve more sustainable and effective outcomes for youth across the region.
