ORANJESTAD, Aruba — Two Aruba firefighters are participating in regional officer training with counterparts from Curaçao, Sint Maarten, Bonaire, Sint Eustatius and Saba.
Twelve firefighters train across six islands
The NIPV program includes online instruction and three two-week practical sessions in Bonaire. It began in July and is scheduled to conclude in February, with two participants representing each island.
Course adapts material to island conditions
Instructor Jip Nauta said the curriculum addresses intense heat, limited water access, fewer incidents for practical experience and differences in alarm and communications systems. Participants also share operational experience.
