ImSan new ambulances have been added to the Instituto Medico San Nicolas emergency fleet as part of a replacement plan, according to an October 22 report by 24ora. The presentation concerned two new vehicles.
Replacement plan aims to maintain service reliability
Acting director Liberato Hoek said ambulances have a useful life of about six years and that planned replacement helps avoid mechanical problems, high maintenance costs and service interruptions. He described the vehicles as new from Ford and compliant with Triple K safety standards.
Staff training continues alongside the fleet update
Each ambulance operates with a driver and a nurse. Six additional nurses are in training and are projected to complete their studies at the end of November, the report said.
One vehicle has a lavender color associated with awareness of all types of cancer. AZV director Edwin Jacobs attended the presentation, which recognized cooperation between AZV and ImSan. The report says the project took approximately two years to complete.
