AZV medicine coverage is set to expand from November 1, 2026, through an update covering 64 medicine entries, including different pharmaceutical forms and strengths, 24ora reported on October 22.
Advisory review precedes the change
Health Minister Melvin Wyatt-Ras met the Adviescommissie Geneesmiddelenlijst Aruba (AGA) on October 20 to discuss its recommendations and implementation. The committee’s formal advice is dated October 13, according to the report.
Update spans several treatment areas
The additions cover specified medical indications across areas including cardiovascular and respiratory care, metabolism, oncology, immunology, hormonal treatment, the nervous system and eye care. The report lists asthma, infections, epilepsy, ADHD and chronic pain among examples.
The changes are to be formalized through the applicable procedure. The reported total includes variations in form and strength; it should not be read as a list of 64 distinct active ingredients or as confirmation that every medicine is covered for every patient.
