ORANJESTAD (AAN) – Aruba health authorities are urging citizens to report illegal injection services involving weight-loss and cosmetic treatments offered by unauthorized individuals.

According to AZV spokesperson Solange Tchong, the issue has been known for several years as more residents seek injections such as Botox and Ozempic from unlicensed providers.

Tchong explained that AZV does not directly monitor illegal medical activities or maintain detailed patient diagnosis records related to complications caused by unauthorized injections.

She noted that doctors may identify complications resulting from illegal treatments, but medical confidentiality rules limit the sharing of patient information.

Health officials stressed that citizens have a civic responsibility to verify whether injection services are legal and performed by qualified professionals.

Authorities encouraged the public to report suspicious clinics, locations, or individuals offering illegal injections to the Public Health Inspection Department for further investigation.
