The Aruba Parliament agenda for the final two months of 2026 includes budget measures and further committee work, Speaker Marlon Sneek told Diario in a report published November 5.
Child-care support bill under discussion
Sneek said the Central Committee discussed setting a deadline for questions on a bill intended to support parents of children with special needs. He described the challenges families face before children become eligible for social assistance at age 16.
This account concerns parliamentary consideration of proposed support, not confirmation that a new benefit is already in force.
Budget work continues through year-end
According to Sneek, consideration of Supplementary Budget I was due to begin on Thursday. The remaining agenda includes Supplementary Budget II, the Tourism Product Enhancement Fund and Aruba’s national budget.
Committee meetings will continue, and Parliament is awaiting any accounting-related bills the government may submit. Sneek also referred to recent committee visits and the public debate on the historical slavery investigation.
