The PPA faction has extended a formal invitation to all parliamentary faction leaders and major commercial guilds to attend an informational session regarding the HOFA and LWHO laws. The meeting is set to take place on June 16, 2026, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at SIMAR, located at Sabana Blanco 36.
Parliamentarian Eduard Pieters explained that the initiative seeks to place the country’s interests first. He stated that discussions regarding HOFA and LWHO, which may affect Aruba’s financial future and autonomy, require an open and transparent approach. Pieters emphasized that the people deserve access to this information before definitive decisions are made by Parliament.
The invitation is open to all political factions represented in Parliament, as well as principal commercial bodies including CUA, ATIA, AFBA, AHATA, KvK, and SNBA. The PPA noted that the topic transcends political party lines and stressed that the objective is to share facts objectively rather than to create confrontation. Shirley Eisden will serve as the independent moderator for the evening.
Organizers describe the event as a call for national dialogue, participation, and transparency rather than a debate. It aims to provide a platform where the community can hear directly from political leaders and commercial sector representatives. “Regardless of political color, Aruba belongs to us all,” Pieters asserted, highlighting that decisions affecting the nation’s future should not be made in isolation.
