A Herbert Aruba visit is planned as part of a November 2–5 introductory tour of Aruba, Curaçao and Bonaire by the Dutch minister responsible for Economic Affairs and Climate, according to 24ora’s October 31 report.
Tourism and refinery stops in Aruba
The Aruba programme includes a visit to the refinery in San Nicolas and discussions with the tourism sector. The minister also plans to meet staff at Impact Hub, which supports starting entrepreneurs with knowledge and expertise.
Economic growth on the regional agenda
Across the four-day tour, Herbert is expected to meet prime ministers, governors, economic affairs ministers, entrepreneurs and representatives of the financial and energy sectors. The report connects the visit to efforts to bring entrepreneurs and capital together through the Economisch Groeiplatform Carib.
Other islands included in the itinerary
In Curaçao, the programme includes discussion of redevelopment of the former refinery area for sustainable energy, industry and circular-economy activity. Bonaire stops include its space innovation park, the Chamber of Commerce and a Qredits milestone celebration. The report does not specify which of the four dates is assigned to Aruba.
