A 131 Aruba online safety campaign is asking parents and the wider community to take an active role in supervising children’s digital activity, according to an announcement published by 24ora on October 31. The campaign is called “Who is Driving?”
Campaign runs through December 30
The initiative is scheduled to appear on 131 Aruba’s Facebook, Instagram and TikTok channels from October 30 through December 30. It is supported by Child Helpline International through the Voice Up Online project.
Adults encouraged to guide online behaviour
The announcement highlights cyberbullying, harassment, harmful content, technology-facilitated child sexual exploitation and abuse, and mental-health concerns associated with online activity. Its driving analogy asks adults to provide guidance rather than leave a child’s online activity unsupervised.
Support available from 131 Aruba
The organization says children, young people and families can contact it for support or information about online risks. Its website, 131.aw, and the contact channels listed in the original announcement provide further information. The campaign is a prevention initiative, not a report of a newly identified individual case.
