The Government of Aruba recently held a virtual introductory meeting with Staatssecretaris Eric van der Burg (VVD) and the Prime Ministers of Aruba, Curaçao, and Sint Maarten. Staatssecretaris Eric van der Burg is a Dutch politician who has served in various national and municipal government positions in the Netherlands. From 2022 to 2024, he served as State Secretary for Justice and Security, with responsibility for Asylum and Migration within the Kingdom of the Netherlands. During the virtual meeting, the leaders exchanged views on strengthening cooperation within the Kingdom framework. They discussed shared challenges and opportunities, emphasizing the importance of collaboration among the four countries of the Kingdom.

The discussion was described as constructive and respectful, focusing on maintaining open dialogue and reinforcing mutual understanding between Kingdom partners. All parties expressed their intention to meet in person soon to continue advancing their cooperation and shared objectives.
