Gateway 2030 Aruba Airport : The Aruba Airport Authority N.V. (AAA) has celebrated the completion of the structural framework for Phase 1B of the Gateway 2030 project. A traditional topping-out ceremony was held Thursday afternoon at the Queen Beatrix International Airport, attended by construction workers, government officials, and project stakeholders.
This milestone represents significant progress in the airport’s transformation, specifically expanding capacity and improving the passenger experience. Phase 1B includes the development of three new passenger gates with boarding bridges, three additional bus gates, and an expanded waiting area. The project also aims to increase food and retail options for travelers.
Jonny Andersen, CEO of Aruba Airport Authority, stated that the milestone reflects progress in strengthening infrastructure during a period of high travel demand. He emphasized that the new facilities will play an essential role in improving flow and comfort, particularly as the island approaches the busy winter tourist season.
