The Public Prosecutor’s Office has demanded a sentence of six years imprisonment and mandatory treatment for a 29-year-old man identified as A.R. The demand was made during a hearing at the Court of Justice regarding charges of attempted murder and serious assault.
The incident occurred on August 12, 2025, where the victim, identified as v.d.B., was stabbed multiple times with a knife. A.R. admitted to the stabbing but claimed the victim had threatened him. Security footage showed A.R. aggressively approaching the victim.
The Prosecutor noted that A.R. had recently been released on conditional freedom from KIA (Correctional Institution) after serving a sentence for a similar crime. Expert reports indicate that A.R. suffers from paranoia and lacks the capacity to fully control his actions. The prosecution argued that mandatory treatment in cooperation with probation services is necessary.
