ORANJESTAD (AAN) – Four-Vehicle Crash on Sasakiweg Leaves Three Injured early Sunday morning after an initial single-vehicle accident escalated into a chain-reaction collision involving four vehicles north of Superfood on Sasakiweg.
Police and ambulance crews were dispatched to the scene after receiving reports of a serious traffic collision involving multiple injured persons.
Initial Crash Triggered Chain-Reaction Collision
According to the preliminary police investigation, the driver of a Toyota Yaris lost control of the vehicle while travelling along Sasakiweg. The vehicle left the roadway and crashed into a utility pole on the side of the road, leaving the driver injured.
Moments later, another motorist stopped near the scene to check on the crash. A Toyota travelling behind the stopped vehicle slowed down, but a Mazda station wagon approaching from the rear was reportedly unable to stop in time and crashed into the back of the Toyota.
Although the first vehicle that stopped to assist was not struck, the sequence of events resulted in a serious multi-vehicle collision involving four vehicles.
Three People Injured
Three people sustained injuries in the crash.
According to emergency responders:
- One victim complained of neck, shoulder, and back pain.
- A second victim reported pain in one leg.
- A third victim suffered a cut to one hand.
Paramedics treated the injured victims at the scene before transporting two injured women to hospital for further medical evaluation and treatment.
Police documented the incident and continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the series of collisions.
