ORANJESTAD (AAN) – ELMAR Launches Electra Discovery Tour 2026 Across Aruba Summer Camps, bringing interactive lessons on electricity distribution and electrical safety to children through a fun and educational island-wide roadshow.
Now in its second consecutive year, the Electra Discovery Tour is organized by N.V. ELMAR as part of the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program.
The initiative aims to help children better understand how electricity is distributed across Aruba while raising awareness about the importance of electrical safety. To achieve this, ELMAR combines education with entertainment through hands-on activities and interactive learning experiences.
Interactive Learning Experience
During the first edition of the tour, children participated in a variety of activities, including electrical-themed games, learning about underground power cables, riding in a bucket truck, and discovering how Aruba’s electricity distribution system operates.
For the 2026 edition, ELMAR has introduced a new attraction developed in partnership with Scol Teatro Aruba.
The highlight is TRIBI, a puppet show featuring Chispito titled “Switch on Safety.” Through the performance, children learn essential electrical safety rules in an engaging and easy-to-understand way.
The show teaches participants important safety messages, including:
- Never touch electrical power lines.
- Do not pull electrical cords out of outlets by the cable.
- Always handle electricity carefully and responsibly.
The central message emphasizes that while electricity is an essential part of everyday life, it must always be used safely and responsibly.
Tour Begins in Santa Cruz
The first stop of the Electra Discovery Tour 2026 took place at Stichting Ambiente Nobo in Santa Cruz, a non-profit organization that provides daytime care for adults with intellectual disabilities.
Following the opening event, the tour continues to YMCA San Nicolas and will visit summer camps in several districts across Aruba, bringing educational activities to children throughout the island.
Investing in Education and Safety
Through the Electra Discovery Tour, ELMAR continues to invest in community education while promoting electrical safety among Aruba’s younger generation.
As part of the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility program, the initiative seeks to create enjoyable, educational, and memorable experiences that help children develop a greater understanding of electricity and the importance of using it safely.
ELMAR says more stops and activities are planned as the Electra Discovery Tour 2026 continues its journey across Aruba’s summer camps.
