Glenn Obispa, whose family had been searching for him for more than two weeks, was found dead Monday in a wooded area in Primavera, according to a statement attributed to the Aruba Police Force.
Authorities have not announced a cause of death or explained the circumstances. No conclusion should be drawn while the investigation is continuing.
Body discovered near the road
Police were notified at approximately 10:49 a.m. after a person walking near the road noticed a body in the wooded area. The remains were described as being in an advanced state of decomposition.
Forensic officers, the medical examiner and investigators from the Oranjestad district attended the scene. Victim-support personnel were also present to assist relatives.
Police subsequently identified the deceased man as Glenn Obispa. His family and others had been looking for him after he was reported missing.
Search had continued for days
ArubaNews.ca previously reported that Obispa’s family renewed its appeal after 18 days without contact. Monday’s identification marks a major development in that search.
The discovery brings a painful outcome for those who had been seeking information about his whereabouts. Authorities have not released further details about when or how he died.
