ORANJESTAD (AAN) – Departamento di Asunto Social (DAS), together with Stichting Ja IK Aruba and Departamento Progreso Laboral (DPL), successfully developed the “In the Picture” program aimed at helping welfare clients return to the labor market.
During an interview with Matutino DIARIO, DAS Public Relations representative Marceylaine Paskel explained that the initiative supports individuals receiving social guidance or financial assistance through personal and professional development opportunities.
The project currently involves 40 DAS clients participating in workshops and training sessions focused on personal growth, workplace preparation, and career readiness.
According to Paskel, Phase 1 of the program has already been completed successfully with the support of Stichting Ja IK Aruba, which provided multiple workshops designed to help participants rebuild confidence and prepare for employment opportunities.
She stated that DAS is extremely proud of the progress made by the participants and confirmed that Phase 2 of the project is now beginning.
Paskel also noted that the mindset of many participants has changed positively throughout the program, with clients becoming more motivated and willing to start a new chapter in their lives.
The project includes participants of different ages, but the main goal remains the same for everyone: creating opportunities for people to successfully re-enter the workforce.
According to DAS, professionals involved in the initiative remain committed to motivating and supporting participants throughout their transition into employment.
