ORANJESTAD (AAN):
Last week Tuesday, Minister of Education Gerlien Croes received a presentation on the CTR21 project from research educators Dr. Gregory Richardson and Melendy Neuman.
CTR21 is a professional development and research project designed for primary school teachers in the Dutch Caribbean islands. The initiative focuses on practice-based research, aiming to identify effective ways to encourage a research-oriented mindset among primary school educators throughout the region.
One of the key objectives of the project is to develop and share innovative research practices within participating schools, with the goal of better addressing the educational needs of students across the islands.
Through CTR21, teachers strengthen their ability to conduct research within their own schools, allowing them to directly contribute to school development and continuous educational improvement.
In Aruba, three primary schools participated in the project:
-
Prinses Amalia School
-
Xander Bogaerts School
-
Colegio Santa Famia
The CTR21 project is a collaborative initiative involving the Instituto Pedagogico Arubano (IPA), University of Curaçao Dr. Moises da Costa Gomez (UoC), University of St. Maarten (USM), University of Aruba (UA), and the Netherlands Initiative for Education Research (NRO).
The presentation highlighted the project’s contribution to strengthening education quality, teacher development, and research-based teaching practices in Aruba and across the Dutch Caribbean.
