The Governor Felipe B Tromp Youth Cup 2026 Nominations Now Open invites individuals and organizations across the island to nominate young people or youth groups who have shown outstanding achievements over the past year.

The Youth Cup was officially established in 1992, following the period when Felipe B. Tromp, Aruba’s first Governor, passed on his responsibilities to his successor, Mr. Olindo Koolman.

Felipe B. Tromp was born in Aruba on October 15, 1917, and passed away on August 12, 1995. During his lifetime, he distinguished himself as an important figure in the island’s social and cultural development.

He actively participated in several cultural and community initiatives, including the Fundacion Centro Cultural Aruba, which played an important role in promoting culture and artistic development on the island.

For many years, cultural activities in Aruba received financial support from Sticusa, a Dutch foundation that provided funding from 1948 until 1991. Beginning in 1984, these financial resources were directed directly to Aruba to support local development.

In addition to his cultural contributions, Tromp also held several important positions in public service. Throughout his career, he served as a politician, minister, and inspector of education.

In 1986, he made history by becoming the first Governor of Aruba, a position that marked a major milestone following Aruba’s constitutional changes.

The Governor Felipe B Tromp Youth Cup 2026 Nominations Now Open for young individuals or youth organizations who have distinguished themselves during the past year in areas such as culture, social service, or sports.

Eligible nominees must be between the ages of 6 and 20 years old, and their achievements must fall within the period April 15, 2025, to April 8, 2026.

Achievements considered for nomination may include awards won, educational achievements, community service activities, personal development, discipline, and contributions to society.

The commission encourages cultural, social, and sports organizations to review their youth activities from the past year and submit nominations for deserving young individuals or groups.

The Governor Felipe B Tromp Youth Cup 2026 Nominations Now Open as the selected winner or winners will receive the award from His Excellency the Governor of Aruba during the King’s Day celebration on April 27.

Nominations can be submitted through the link shared on the ATHA Facebook page (Asociacion Trabou di Hubentud na Aruba – ATHA), delivered personally at the ATHA office located at Caya Appeldam #2, or sent via email to info@athaaruba.com.
