Technical work begins on the street
Bernhardstraat Christmas lights are being prepared as part of the ongoing revitalization of San Nicolas. ELMAR technicians have started adapting light poles and installing electrical equipment before the Department of Public Works connects decorations and photocells.
Community volunteers support renewal
The street project has involved volunteers for nearly six months, with residents and supporters painting and repairing homes on Saturdays. Prime Minister Mike Eman described the work as a community effort backed by people from across Aruba.
Lighting ceremony targeted for October 14
Officials said the technical work could be completed within several days. A community lighting moment is planned near Chocolate City on October 14, while broader projects involving roads, public facilities and downtown areas continue across San Nicolas.
