Aruba website outages were reported across several public-facing institutions on Wednesday, October 21, according to accounts published by 24ora and Diario.
Government and institutional sites named
The outlets named Gobierno.aw, DOW.aw, AirportAruba.com, Elmar.aw, Parlamento.aw and VNO Aruba among the affected sites. Diario reported that some sites were accessible again during the afternoon.
Diario described local webmasters taking sites offline as a precaution during an international alert concerning PHP software vulnerabilities.
No confirmed local cyberattack or data theft
24ora explicitly said there was no official confirmation linking the local interruptions to the PHP issue, and no confirmed evidence of a local cyberattack or stolen information.
The reports therefore do not establish that Aruba’s affected institutions were hacked. The account here concerns the interruptions reported on October 21, not the sites’ current availability.
