Aruba U13 Baseball Team Heads to Mexico : The Aruba Intermediate selection (U13) is scheduled to travel to Reynosa, Mexico, in 18 days to compete in the Latin American Baseball tournament. The primary objective for the team is to secure a spot in the Little League World Series.
Max Arendsz, the team’s manager, reported that preparations are proceeding positively. The training schedule has been adjusted from daily sessions to longer practices held twice a week on Tuesdays and Saturdays. These sessions focus on fitness, batting, fielding, and running to ensure the athletes are physically prepared.
This marks the fourth occasion Arendsz has led a Little League selection, following trips in 2020, 2024, and 2025. The current roster was chosen through a pre-selection process from the local U14 junior league. While the core group remains similar to last year’s squad, two new players have joined the team.
Regarding the previous year’s 1-0 loss that prevented the team from reaching the final, Arendsz acknowledged the role of fortune in the sport. He stated that while high expectations follow hard training, results can vary, and luck is a necessary component for success. He maintained that the team’s overall performance during that loss was solid.
