Aruba police checks were reported at the Balashi roundabout and in shopping areas on Saturday night, October 24, according to two separate accounts published by AWE24.
Traffic checks at Balashi roundabout
In its report published at 7:32 p.m., the outlet said a contributor had recorded part of the traffic checks at Balashi. The headline described enforcement involving speed and other traffic violations.
AWE24 reported that a C.E.A. vehicle for transporting detainees and a tow truck for confiscated vehicles were available at the scene. Their presence does not establish how many people, if any, were detained or how many vehicles were seized; the report provided no totals.
Shopping-area patrols also reported
A second AWE24 report, published at 9:57 p.m., described police checks at several frequently visited places, including shopping areas and Seaport Marketplace.
The outlet said officers were checking suspicious individuals who might be carrying weapons or drugs for sale to tourists. The account did not announce arrests, seizures or specific offences established during those checks.
The reports describe different locations on the same evening but do not establish whether the activity formed part of one coordinated operation.
