An Aruba massage therapist was acquitted after the court found that the allegation against the 77-year-old defendant was not supported by sufficient corroborating evidence, according to Diario.
Court finds supporting evidence insufficient
The case concerned an allegation involving a massage session on August 30, 2025. The defendant denied wrongdoing and told the court he had worked as a massage therapist for 40 years without a previous complaint.
The Public Prosecutor argued that the complainant’s account was credible and sought a combined sentence of 80 hours of community service, with 40 hours suspended and a two-year probation period. The defense requested an acquittal, arguing that the available statements did not independently corroborate the allegation.
Judge orders acquittal
Diario reported that the judge considered the complainant’s account credible but concluded that statements from other people did not provide sufficient supporting evidence. The court therefore acquitted the defendant.
The ruling is a distinct outcome from earlier Aruba cases involving massage therapists and should not be confused with unrelated convictions reported previously.
